The little things in life really do count.

Posted by: chooseyourvice on: August 24, 2008

Through my bouts of depression, I learned how  the small things in life really do count. The everyday choices we make, make a difference in not only our week, our month, but our entire life.  Being diagnosed with depression, I tend to have alot of negative & sad thoughts through out the day, so in my process of learning to make better choices, I chose to think positive about everything, even at the most “Down” parts of my day. Also, everyone tends to have something they dont particularly “love” about themselves, and so everyday, before I leave my house, I look in the mirror and remind myself that I am me, and I should, and will  love myself for being me.  And although you might not think right then that you automatically feel that much better about yoruself, In the long run, you will start to believe it.  I know there are times where I get so stressed out I feel like I’m gonna blow. And Ive realized these are the moments where you need to be by yourself. I believe one of the most important choices in life is to take time for yourself, to hydrate your body and mind with the energy it needs to thrive on. The little things in life really do count the most. Because over all, it makes up life period.  If you enjoyed reading this post, and want to know about more ways you can make better choices for yourself, I suggest you look up the author Alexandra Stoddard, She has over 25 books published on self improvement and although I haven’t read all of them, the ones I have read are worth while.

I suffer occasionally from stress-related anxiety and depression and I will check out your suggested reading. I must admit that it was your choice of photograph for your post that caught my eye though. Did you take this yourself? If so, that’s a great talent you have! If not, your taste is impeccable! Either way, thanks.

Ty, No, I did not photograph this, although I did decide to put this photo up for this post because I thought it to be rather calming, Some of my favorite books by Stoddard is You are your choices, and Choose your happiness. Let me know what you think of them :) and thanks for checking out my blog!!
